This afternoon we bought a mattress. I realized after we left the store that it cost nearly twice as much as I paid for my first used car, yet it will probably remain in one place for as long as I live.
Since we were at the store, we bought a new mattress for my daybed. I told the salesperson that I should have brought Fremont to make sure he approved. He spends more time on the daybed than I do.
We planned to buy both items. We did not finance the purchases. They were part of our 2024 budget, so to speak. We don’t really have a 2024 budget. We just don’t spend money we don’t have if at all possible.
