Cucumbers

This is the first year I’ve been lax with my garden. Usually, I’d already have cucumbers, peas, tomatoes, and radishes by this time of year. Part of the problem was not paying enough attention to the garden because I wasn’t walking much, another part was not paying attention because I was feeling burnt out about everything. People who read my blog could probably tell.

I fertilized the plants today and replanted some seeds where things weren’t coming up. Because it’s getting hotter, I’ll need to water it nearly daily from here forward. I might replace the tomatoes. I’m not sure they’ll recover. I’ll make that decision tomorrow. I’m a bit embarrassed. I’ve been gardening for years in one form or another and my plants usually grow well.

I went for a further walk than this morning an hour ago. Because I haven’t been on my feet for a while, my legs feel it. Funny to think only 9 months ago I was walking 60 miles per week. That’s not going to happen again, but I need to up the exercise. It’s interesting how spending the better part of two weeks off my feet weakened my legs as much as it did.

Last week I overdid it on Duolingo and let myself get promoted. In order to stay in my new level, I’ll now have to spend 30 minutes a day practicing instead of 20 minutes. I’ll see how it goes. I might let myself get demoted! I’m going to do another module now. Or maybe not. πŸ™‚

    1. No. Until last June, I worked in the Lawn and Garden department at a Big Box store. I would regularly walk at least 11 miles in n 8-hour shift.
